Shirakawago is a Japanese traditional style villedge and world heritage site. It’s popular for both domestic and foreign tourists.
There is no train station near the villedge, the best way to get there is using bus.

A good route to Shirakawago is as follows.
From Chubu International Airport to Nagoya by rail
You can catch highway buses to Shirakawago at Nagoya. So you have to go to Nagoya at first from Chubu International Airport.
To get Nagoya station, using Meitetsu railway is most convenient and fast way. “μSKY” is so useful and comfortable for tourist to get Nagoya from Airport because there is a place to put suitcase and reserved seating only. It needs additional charge to buy “μTicket”.

From Nagoya to Shirakawago
Just a few miniutes by walk from Meitetsu Nagoya station, you can find Meitetsu Bus Center.
At Meitetsu Bus Center, There are six buses for Shirakawago per day. Four buses of them depart in the morning. Spending the night before in Nagoya is good idea to ride on this bus.

The fare from Nagoya to Shirakawago depends on calender, but usually about 3,400 to 3,800 yen.
